The president of the U.S. Soccer Federation, Cindy Cone, met with Gianni Infantino, the FIFA president, in Paris on Saturday to discuss cooperation and legacy projects ahead of the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the U.S.

"We believe that the World Cup in '26 is going to be the biggest sporting event in the world," Cone said after the meeting. "So, I think it's really important that our sport really capitalizes on that, and U.S. Soccer is looking at working with FIFA and all of our members in every state, because we are a very large country, to see how we can capitalize on this momentum and really increase participation, make our sport more diverse in the U.S. and really grow fandom."
