Sixteen bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a plane that crashed into a mountainside in Nepal with 22 people on board, the country's Civil Aviation Authority said on Monday.

The Twin Otter plane carrying 19 passengers and three crew members, including four Indians and two Germans, went missing on Sunday morning when it was flying from the city of Pokhara to the mountain town of Jomsom in Mustang district.

Nepali rescuers found on Monday the crash site of the missing plane, the army said. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
