Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that liberating the Donetsk and Luhansk regions is his country's "unconditional priority." In an interview with a French television channel, Lavrov insisted that Russia's goal in Ukraine is to de-militarize his neighbor after waves of NATO's eastward expansion. He also said Western sanctions against Russia were planned long before the conflict with Ukraine started and probably won't be lifted.
