China's first hybrid power plant using both solar and tidal power officially went into operation on Monday. Covering more than 133 hectares, the photovoltaic equipment was designed to complement tidal power generation. The project ensures a more stable power supply, as solar energy is not always readily available. Tidal energy, powered by the surge of ocean waters during the rise and fall of tides, helps secure constant power generation.
