The Chinese mainland recorded 50 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, with 28 linked to local transmissions and 22 from overseas, data from the National Health Commission showed on Tuesday. 

A total of 124 asymptomatic cases were also recorded on Monday, and 11,950 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation. 

The cumulative number of confirmed cases on the Chinese mainland is 224,099, with the death toll from COVID-19 standing at 5,226. 

The latest tally of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan region is as follows: 

Hong Kong: 332,335 (62,200 recoveries, 9,378 deaths) 

Macao: 83 (82 recoveries) 

Taiwan: 1,952,355 (13,742 recoveries, 2,165 deaths)
