An article by Chinese President Xi Jinping on modernization featuring harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature will be published on Wednesday.

The article by President Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's 11th issue of the Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.

China will remain committed to promoting green and low-carbon development, and make more efforts to win the battle on pollution prevention and control, according to the article.

Tackling the current ecological and environmental problems facing everyday people should be a priority, so that they can live in an improved environment, the article added.

The quality and stability of the ecosystem should be improved so as to increase the supply of quality ecological products and mitigate and adapt to the adverse effects of climate change.

Efforts should also be made to promote global sustainable development, according to the article.

"We should uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, actively participate in global environmental governance, strengthen international cooperation on climate change, marine pollution treatment, biodiversity conservation and others, and present China as a major responsible country," the article states.

It added that the modernization of China's national government system and governance capacity should also be made in its ecological environment.
