The death toll has risen to four with 14 others injured after the magnitude-6.1 earthquake in Lushan County in Ya'an City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Wednesday afternoon.
The earthquake was followed by a magnitude-4.5 aftershock in nearby Baoxing County. So far, all the casualties have been reported in Baoxing.
The injured have been sent to hospitals.
Ya'an City authorities said some 4,500 people are heading to affected areas for rescue and relief operations, including repairing roads and relocating residents.
