Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida discussed bilateral cooperation and the Russia-Ukraine conflict with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

During the phone conversation, the two leaders confirmed the importance of the G7 coordinating against Russia's action in Ukraine, such as sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine, and also cooperating in solving the food and energy issues faced by vulnerable countries, read the statement.
