The magnitude-6.1 earthquake that rattled Lushan County in Ya'an City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on Wednesday afternoon was an aftershock of the magnitude-7.0 earthquake in the region in 2013, the Sichuan earthquake department told a press conference Wednesday night.
The 2013 quake killed 196 people and injured over 11,000.
