The EU's sixth round of sanctions against Russia has been held up, due to the objection of Hungary. Three diplomats said Hungary insisted on the removal of the head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill from the list of sanctioned individuals. The new sanctions were agreed on in principle by EU leaders earlier this week. The package includes an embargo on Russian crude oil and refined product imports with plans to cut 90% of imports by the end of the year. Hungary is exempt from the embargo due to its strong dependence on Russian oil.
