Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday appeared on Buckingham Palace's balcony as the four-day celebrations got underway to mark her Platinum Jubilee or her 70 years in service.
Joined by her cousin, the Duke of Kent, the monarch watched troops returning from the official Trooping of the Colour ceremony.
The queen later made a second balcony appearance with some members of the Royal Family on Thursday afternoon.
The four-day celebrations kicked off on Thursday morning.
