UN registers 'Türkiye' as name to replace 'Turkey': Anadolu

The United Nations is replacing "Turkey" with "Türkiye" as that country's name after receiving a request from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, state news agency Anadolu has reported.
UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric said the name change went into effect the moment the letter from Cavusoglu was received, according to the report.
