Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podolyak tweeted on Friday that Ukraine does not plan to use the multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) to attack facilities in Russia.

Podolyak wrote, "Our partners know where their weapons are used."

The U.S. announced on Tuesday that it will send Ukraine advanced rocket systems and munitions as part of a new $700 million package of military equipment. 

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Friday that "Washington is obliged to respond to the facts of the use of weapons supplied by it to Ukraine," reported Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
