Major breadbasket regions across China have accelerated summer harvesting. According to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on June 3, farmers in the country have so far reaped over 6.73 million hectares of wheat crops. The daily harvested area has reached up to about 1.33 million hectares.

Wheat harvests in southwest China's Sichuan Province and central China's Hubei Province, two agricultural powerhouses, have now basically come to an end. The provinces of Henan, Jiangsu and Shaanxi have completed more than 45 percent, 20 percent and 10 percent of their wheat harvest tasks, respectively.

Due to local efforts to optimize the planting structure, the production of high-quality wheat has increased this year.
