At least 16 people were killed and 450 injured when a massive fire tore through an inland container storage facility shortly before midnight in the southeastern Bangladeshi town of Sitakunda, local media The Daily Observer reported on Sunday.
Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) confirmed the number of deaths, according to the reports.
Some 450 people, including police and fire service personnel, have been admitted to different hospitals, including the CMCH, with multiple burn injuries.
The fire broke out inside BM Container Depot's loading area around 10:30 p.m. local time, according to local police and fire services.
