The Western countries have banned Ukraine from pursuing peace talks, and are using the Ukrainians as tools to contain Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Saturday in an interview with Radio and Television of Republika Srpska, a Bosnian-Serb television channel.

"They control the Ukrainians as a tool to exhaust and defeat Russia on the battlefield," Lavrov said.
