One person was shot with non-life-threatening wound inside a Goldsboro hospital Sunday night in the U.S. state of North Carolina and the shooter is on the run, local media reported.

The shooting was reported as an active shooter incident at 8:17 p.m. at Wayne UNC Health Care and prompted a temporary hospital lockdown, which was lifted nearly an hour later.

Wayne County official said identity of the shooter is known to the law enforcement and officers are working to apprehend the suspect.

The shooting came as the U.S. recorded nine deaths and two dozen injuries in three weekend mass shootings – one in Philadelphia on late Saturday, on in Chattanooga, Tennessee early Sunday and one in Saginaw, Michigan.
