The Ninth Summit of the Americas is set to open this week in Los Angeles. It's meant to bring together leaders of the Organization of American States to reinforce ties and discuss multilateral initiatives to address common issues. But this year, the U.S. has been pushing for the isolation of Russia by the international community. Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, excluded from the summit, are allies of Russia.
