Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador confirmed that he would not attend the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles this week. Lopez Obrador said his concerns over the guest list led him to skip the event. He wanted Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela to be invited, but Washington did not want to include those governments. "We think it's a continuation of the old policy of interventionism, of disrespect for nations and their peoples," said Lopez Obrador.
