The United States, Britain, France and Germany have submitted a motion to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to censure Iran over its "lack of cooperation" with the agency, AFP reported, citing two diplomats on Tuesday.
The text was submitted overnight on Monday amid stalled talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.
If the resolution urging Iran to "cooperate fully" with the IAEA is adopted, it will be the first motion censuring Iran since June 2020.
Iran vowed last Friday to show an "immediate response" to any move against it by the U.S. and European countries at the UN nuclear watchdog IAEA, Iranian state media reported.
"Any political action by the U.S. and the three European countries in the agency (IAEA) will undoubtedly be met with a proportionate, effective and immediate response from Iran," Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian was quoted as saying by state media.
