Palestinians and Israelis have been marking the 55th year since the Six-Day War broke out. It began on June 5, 1967, between Israel and its Arab neighbors. Sit-in protests were held in Gaza. The war saw Israel gain control of the Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem. Peace talks reached a deadlock in 2014 following disputes on Israeli settlements and establishing a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.
