A passenger train has partially derailed between the cities of Mashhad and Yazd in eastern Iran, killing at least 17 people and injuring 50 others. Local officials said there were approximately 350 passengers on board and the number of casualties could rise. Over a dozen people suffered critical injuries, with some transferred to local hospitals, officials added.
