World Ocean Day, marked every June 8, reminds us of how integral our seas are to life on Earth. Over three billion people depend on marine and coastal biodiversity for their livelihoods. Oceans cover 71 percent of our planet and are home to more than half of the species living on Earth. "Revitalization: collective action for the ocean" is the theme for World Oceans Day 2022. It calls on people around the world to protect and restore our blue planet.
