Over 20 million tonnes of grain at risk of spoiling at Black Sea ports

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday that the Berjansk and Mariupol ports are ready to resume food shipments, while Ukraine indicated that no agreement had been reached over a grain corridor. Over 20 million tonnes of grain are at risk of spoiling at the ports. The apparent stalemate and resulting food crisis means there is a desperate need for diplomacy – a role that Turkey is trying to take on.
