Amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Ronald Grigor Suny, professor of history and political science at the University of Michigan, said in an interview with China Media Group that sanctions imposed by the United States and NATO against Russia are not effective in ending the conflict, but will hurt countries around the world. He added that the U.S. had arbitrarily imposed sanctions on other countries for its own interests.
