Thirty enterprises have signed deals to bring more than 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) in investment to Shanghai's Hongkou District, the Wenhui Daily newspaper reported on Thursday.

The projects cover finance, shipping, trade, technology and other sectors, the report said.

The investments demonstrate that the district's reopening is accelerating after COVID-19 restrictions, the paper said. It quoted a district official promising that the local government would enhance the business environment and provide additional support.
