Twenty-one local COVID-19 infections were reported in Beijing from midnight to 3:00 p.m. Friday as a new cluster linked to a bar emerged.
Since Thursday, a total of 29 COVID-19 infections, spreading across 12 Beijing districts, were found related to the bar which is located in Sanlitun in Beijing's Chaoyang District.
An additional 4,402 people were designated as close contacts to the new cluster so far as an epidemiological investigation continues.
At a daily press conference, Xu Hejian, a spokesperson for the Beijing municipal government warned there's still a high risk of social transmission as the cluster involves a wide range and complex personnel composition.
