China and Kazakhstan achieve tangible results in environmental protection
06:46

Over the last 30 years, China and Kazakhstan have seen steady development in bilateral relations ranging from stronger ties to comprehensive strategic partnerships. China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has found great synergies with Kazakhstan's Bright Path economic policy and achieved tangible results. Wang Fei, CEO of SPIC Zhanatas Wind Power Station, tells Guan Xin of CGTN Global Business that Kazakhstan is not only a significant transit place for logistics but also a major energy hub.

The 100-megawatt Zhanantas Wind Farm in Kazakhstan is a good example of the China-Kazakhstan cooperation. The wind farm has the largest installed capacity in Central Asia and has been constructed under the framework of China's BRI and Kazakhstan's Bright Path economic policy. All its 40 turbines have been independently designed and produced by Chinese wind turbine equipment manufacturers. In general, China has contributed significantly to the development of renewable energy in Kazakhstan. Two thirds of the 1,500-megawatt new renewable energy capacity in the country was built with the help of Chinese partners in the past four years.
