The defense chiefs of China and the United States held face-to-face talks in Singapore on June 10. In terms of the South China Sea issue, China urged the U.S. to stop undermining the South China Sea's peace and stability. "The U.S. should take more practical actions to safeguard regional stability and stop stirring up disputes, troubles and confrontations," Chinese Ministry of National Defense spokesperson Wu Qian quoted defense minister Wei Fenghe as saying during a meeting with his U.S. counterpart Lloyd Austin.
