A bronze altar was found in the No. 8 sacrificial pit at the Sanxingdui Ruins site in Guanghan City of southwestern China's Sichuan Province. The remaining part of the altar is about one meter in height, with the upper part being a bronze mythical creature and the lower part a bronze base with through-carved patterns. The upper part was unearthed on June 11, and the lower part was taken from the ruins on June 12. More than 12,000 pieces of cultural relics have been unearthed and numbered in the current round of excavation. And nearly 2,400 pieces of the relics were found in complete form.
