A new round of excavation work is unveiled at China's ancient ruins site Sanxingdui. More than 12,000 newly unearthed cultural relics have been discovered in this round.

At present, half of the excavation work in No. 8 pit has been completed, and the excavation of No. 7 pit has entered the final stage. Pits No. 5 and No. 6 have been completely extracted and excavated in a laboratory. The earliest excavated pits, No. 3 and No. 4, have been excavated and are now sealed.

Dating back over 3,000 years, the Sanxingdui ruins have shed light on the ancient Shu civilization and the cultural origins of the Chinese nation. They are regarded as one of the most significant sets of ancient remains found in the 20th century.
