- European Union (EU) leaders on Thursday accepted Ukraine and Moldova as candidates for membership of the bloc.

- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Moscow's massive air and artillery attacks were aimed at destroying the entire Donbas region and urged Ukraine's allies to accelerate the shipment of heavy weapons to match Russia on the battlefield. 

- U.S. officials said on Thursday that the country will provide an additional $450 million in security assistance to Ukraine, including more long-range rocket systems.

- Britain introduced a new tranche of trade sanctions against Russia on Thursday, with fresh measures including prohibitions on the export to Russia of a range of goods and technology, the export of jet fuel, sterling or EU denominated banknotes.
