A breathtaking double rainbow appeared after the rains in Chongli District in Zhangjiakou City, north China's Hebei Province, on the evening of June 14.

When sunlight passes through a raindrop, it is reflected once within the drop to form the primary rainbow. The second rainbow occurs when light is reflected twice in the drop. The second rainbow is fainter than the primary rainbow because more light escapes from two reflections compared to one.
