Local authorities in east China's Jiangxi Province have stepped up their emergency response efforts, including repairing roads and discharging floodwaters, after torrential rains drenched large parts of the province. The local government, in cooperation with transportation, emergency and fire departments, promptly organized emergency service workers and large machinery to repair roads, remove obstacles, set up warning signs and make all-out efforts to get vehicles flowing again. Since June 14, Wangmudu Town has dispatched nearly 300 volunteers to help relocate 1,329 people from 465 households in key areas along the river.
