On June 19, the Xiaolangdi Reservoir Dam on China's Yellow River opened its three spillways to release floodwater. This is the 21st year to witness the impressive view of water being released before the flood season. The release operation will last 20 days and end around July 8. Designed for flood and ice control, dredging, and ensuring water supply and power generation, the Xiaolangdi Reservoir is the largest of its kind on the Yellow River.
