At least 1,000 dead, hundreds injured in Afghanistan earthquake

The death toll has surpassed 1,000 after a magnitude-6.1 earthquake struck Afghanistan's Paktika Province early on Wednesday. It struck about 44 kilometers from the southeastern city of Khost, near the border with Pakistan.
