UK consumer price inflation surges to 9.1% in May

UK consumer price inflation spiked to 9.1 percent in May, the highest in 40 years, according to data released by the Office for National Statistics on Wednesday.
The Bank of England has warned inflation might exceed 11 percent later this year as the prices of fuel and food put pressure on household budgets.
