The cultural TV program "China in Poetry and Painting" from China Media Group held a booting ceremony in Beijing recently. The first of 11 episodes will air on CCTV-1, CCTV-3 and CMG's new media platform Yangshipin in August.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, joined the launch with guests, including Wang Xudong, director of the Palace Museum, and Cheng Jianping, party secretary of Beijing Normal University.

The program is a joint production of CMG, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Palace Museum, Beijing Normal University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the China National Art Museum and other institutions.

It will present classic poetry and painting works innovatively, connecting Chinese poetry and painting.

Each program takes five to six classic paintings as the content carrier, with classical poetry as the spiritual core, excavates the historical and cultural connotation behind the works, and interprets their contemporary significance and value.
