Live updates: Earthquake death toll in Afghanistan climbs to 1,150

- The death toll from the magnitude-6.1 earthquake that rocked eastern Afghanistan on early Wednesday has risen to 1,150 and at least 1,600 people have been wounded, said Abdul Wahid Rayan, a senior Taliban official and director general of state-run Bakhtar News Agency. 

- Authorities in Afghanistan have ended the search for survivors, a senior official said on Friday.

- Around 10,000 houses were partially or completely destroyed in the earthquake, Mohammad Nassim Haqqani, a spokesperson for the disaster ministry, told Reuters on Friday.

- The United Nations in Afghanistan is fully mobilized, and UN teams are already on the ground assessing needs and providing initial support, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.

- Meanwhile, countries including China, South Korea, Japan, Pakistan, Iran and Turkey have pledged humanitarian assistance.
