The Niuheliang archaeological site is located in northeast China's Liaoning Province, and provides information on the ancient Chinese civilization. The site dates back to 5,500-5,000 years ago, in the late Neolithic era, and defined by Chinese archaeologists as the Hongshan Culture. The sacrificial altars, temples and tombs discovered at the site shows solid evidence of an early civilization that was highly developed as early as five millennia ago in China.
