Many elderly Chinese remain in rural areas when the young people leave to work in big cities, while Zhuge Village in southwest China's Sichuan Province is a typical village with many elderly residents. But they are well taken care of. Villagers over 60 can eat at the senior's canteen for less than one U.S. dollar a meal. The canteen is operated by the government, the village committee and a contractor.
