In 2020, the Chinese city of Wuhan managed to flatten its COVID-19 curve within a few months after the emergence of the novel coronavirus. The city's efforts in containing the virus followed a national policy of putting people's lives and health first. This was embodied in medical professionals from across the country volunteering in the city and was reflected in the fast-built makeshift hospitals made to accommodate patients. Two years on, medical professionals there are still holding a strong conviction of "people first, life first," as CGTN reporter Omar Khan discovers.
