The Myanmar authorities have torched drugs worth more than $500 million to mark the World Drug Day on Sunday. Last month, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) reported that law enforcement had netted nearly 172 tonnes of methamphetamine last year – approximately seven times more than a decade ago.
