Regina Ip: National Security Law 'extremely effective'
Regina Ip, chairwoman of New People's Party in Hong Kong and Legislative Council member, said the implementation of the National Security Law and the new electoral system has been effective in putting Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) back on track. The former secretary for security added that the law "was a circuit breaker, which immediately put an end to the violence and riots in HKSAR, and restored order, stability and security. Without the National Security Law, HKSAR would have still been in turmoil." She expressed appreciation to China's central government for its help and support to Hong Kong.
