Nyanpo Yuzee, located on the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is a breeding ground for almost 100 black-necked cranes. The Nyanpo Yuzee Environmental Protection Association founded the Crane Protection Group in 2011, inviting local women herders to help protect the cranes nesting on their summer pastures. To these herders, the cranes are like family members.
