At 8 a.m. on June 30, the third typhoon of 2022, Chaba, formed in the South China Sea, with wind speed reaching Force 8 on the Beaufort scale near its eye.
Chaba is expected to move north by west at 10-15 km/h, approaching the coastal areas of eastern Hainan and western Guangdong provinces. It may become the first typhoon to make landfall in China in 2022.
