Nyanpo Yuzee in Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is an important breeding ground for close to a hundred black-necked cranes. However, in recent years, habitat loss brought by climate change and increased human activities has posed a growing threat to the bird population. In response, in 2011, the Nyanpo Yuzee Environmental Protection Association selected a group of 16 local herders, 15 of them women, to help protect the region's cranes. 

It took six months to film this documentary. It tells the story of two herders guarding the cranes. They are 40-year-old Gadak Tso and 29-year-old Choegyab. To them, the cranes are like members of the family. In the fragile environment high on the plateau, these herders are demonstrating how human beings coexist with the wildlife around them.
