Team China entered the next stage of the International Basketball Association (FIBA) World Cup qualifiers after the first round of Asian qualifiers concluded in Melbourne, Australia.  

They beat Team Chinese Taipei 97-56 on Monday, three days after they achieved their first lop-sided 94-58 victory.

Team China took a 20-point early lead in the first quarter, while Team Chinese Taipei struggled to find weakness in Team China's defense, with the half-time score sitting at 55-26. 

Team China's 26-year-old center and former NBA player Zhou Qi led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Team China ended their Asian qualifiers campaign with 2 wins and 2 losses, against Team Chinese Taipei and Team Australia, respectively.

They will set off soon for the FIBA Asia Cup due to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 12 to 24, in which they will meet Team South Korea, Team Bahrain, and Team Chinese Taipei in Group B.
