Japan's temperatures reach record high over the past week

Japan witnessed record high temperatures over the past week. The temperatures in Tokyo reached 35 degrees Celsius for nine consecutive days. Over 1,000 people were hospitalized for heat stroke over the last week and 17 heat-related deaths were reported in June. Multiple cities have registered record high temperatures, with some clocking in at 40 degrees Celsius.
