01:42

Ukraine says its forces have withdrawn from Lysychansk, as Russia claims full control of the Luhansk region. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to regain control of the area with the help of heavy weapons from the West. The focus now shifts to the neighboring Donetsk region, where Ukraine is still in control of a sizeable amount of territory.
The mayor of Sloviansk, Donetsk has reported shelling in the city as they prepare for an attack from Russian troops. Separately, Ukraine's media say Ukrainian forces attacked the city of Snizhne overnight. It is not yet clear what specific targets are targeted within the region. Associated Press reporter Ciaran McQuillan has more.
